The Maternity Care Program offers universal maternity coverage to uninsured, lower-income expectant mothers who live in Palm Beach County.  The program gives expectant mothers the prenatal and postnatal care they need to stay healthy and ensure the health of their newborn.  The services these mothers receive also helps prevent the occurrence of lower birthweight babies and infant mortality.

The program was designed to reach out to residents who were ineligible for Medicaid but lacked the financial means to cover the costs of care without assistance.  Up to ten months of health care coverage is provided under this program.

Since the program's inception in 2004, more than 11,000 women and their babies have benefitted from more than 200,000 health care services each year--a testament to both the strength of the Maternity Care Program, as well as the District’s commitment and dedication to quality care.
