Coordinated Care is a health coverage program designed to provide affordable and accessible quality health services to residents who are not Medicaid or Medicare eligible and lack private health insurance. The Health Care District launched the program in 1993, and within two years, more than 25,000 residents received safety-net services including inpatient hospital care, outpatient surgery, prescription drugs, diagnostic services, and primary care and specialty physician services – all at no cost to members.
